| PART 2
For three years (since 1998), every Friday from 1-2 o'clock I have met for prayer with a very good friend of mine who is the Pastor of the "Upper Room Church". One Friday in 1999, God gave me a "Second Vision" while my friend was praying. He showed me a hand with a scroll in it, tied with the most beautiful ribbon. I could only identify with two of the colours - the rest were beyond description. They were incredibly beautiful. A hand came forward and beckoned me to take the scroll. I did, and began to untie that beautiful ribbon. I turned round to set the ribbon down on a table that I thought was covered by a cloth, only it wasn't a cloth but a brilliant white 'cloud'. I then proceeded to unroll the "Scroll" and to my surprise it was a cheque for four hundred thousand pounds. I quickly rolled it up, took the ribbon and tied it exactly the way it had been and said to God "Mind that until I need it because I'm not that good with money". I knew then God had asked me to move from our borrowed premises as He did from that borrowed tomb, to raise to His Glory, a home of our own.
So there you have it - God was asking me to build
him a Church of our own and He would pay for it. "WOW!!" I shared
this with the Elders of the church and after a short while this 'vision'
kicked into their hearts also, and I am so humbled to say we are one with
this vision.
Obviously this ongoing story as it "broke" had touched the hearts of many - saved and unsaved alike, so much so that just a few fields away there is a 'wee mission hall' called Craigantlet Mission Hall and would you believe it, it was opened for the "Glory of God" in 1912. Just about a year ago the Elders of that Mission hall approached me to see if we would be interested in taking up the task of keeping Gods light lit in that area, as their existing members are now, after years of dedicated service, quite few. Again, the elders, deacons and members of our fellowship as one voice agreed. One of the trustees and his wife offered us an acre of additional land to build this new home for us and God and they are now very dear friends to all of us at Crossroads.
We prayed that God would direct us to an Architect
who would take on the Design for this new building and God being God did
so, a christian man called Michael Whitley. The site is in the 'Green
Belt' in the middle of beautiful rolling County Down countryside overlooking
Belfast Lough, an idyllic setting for us, but not one to encourage planning
departments with environmental issues high on the agenda to say yes. With
Gods help, would you believe, the drawings passed at the first presentation.
Remarkably, it has taken 'half' the time it normally would for us to be
at this stage, but then when you think of it, this is not natural, its
spiritual, its Gods gift to us.
Let me begin writing again with an apology, I left
you with a negative in that my closing remarks were, WATCH THIS SPACE,
when I really should have said, 'WATCH THIS GRACE.' Could I also say it's
now been 6 years since the last words, and it's been incredible, it's
been challenging, it's been frightening, it's been disappointing, and
yet it's a blessing when you realise that for God it hasn't been 6 years,
it's just the right time, the perfect time. Isn't He incredible!
