The Word of God is central to the life of Crossroads, and must be our compass.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 119:105, "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path". This is because the written word of God that we have received is the mediation of the LIVING WORD - John 1:1, as Jesus made clear to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus in Luke 24. The priority and relevance of that incident is underlined in the significance of the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
Compare Luke 24:45"Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures" with John 20:22 "And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit".
The ministry of the Word of God is the vital confrontation of the church fellowship and the individual member of the Church with the Spirit of Truth that "is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart" Hebrews 4:12.
Yet the Word of God, because it is living and because it mediates the presence and appreciation of God is also the source of great joy and delight and this is brought out through ministry that honours the integrity of the Word of God, delivered both by those within the fellowship at Crossroads and visitors.
We invite you to share with us in the experience of the joy and illumination to be found in God's Word.
